Jake is already 4months old!

Where has the time gone? I can't believe how fast it is flying by. It really seems like only a few short weeks ago we brought the little guy home. He is getting so big! He really is. At his appt. last week he was just over 16 pounds and 25 1/4 inches long. We call him our little chunk. Can you believe it? He does have a big cast on, but it can't weigh all that much. WE get it off for good next Tuesday. I don't know what the future holds with his foot, but as for now we are getting the cast off and going to have a brace that is removable. It will be so nice!
I just love his big open mouth grins and how happy he is all the time. He makes the cutest clicking noises and is always eating his hands. He spits his binky out everywhere and puts the hands in. He loves to hear himself make noise. He is always making the cutest noises and loves the kids. Makenna is his favorite. She can calm him down when she sings to him. He really likes her singing. I am just so happy that he is a great baby. He really is happy almost all the time. What a joy he is.

Baby Blessing

I realized that I never posted anything about the baby blessing. Jacob was blessed Sunday, March 7, 2010. Church started at 1:00 which was a very good thing for me. Getting the family ready and myself has turned out to be a lot harder than it used to be. The baby needs to eat when I need to be doing my make-up and or my hair. Joe blessed Jacob and it was very nice. We had lots of family there. I am so glad that we live so close to family so they are able to make it to things like this. I don't think that my house has EVER been as clean as it was that day. Joe spent all week working on the tile that went behind the sink and all around the counter top backsplash. It looked so nice. I was so proud of how great everything looked and turned out. Helen made the yummiest chicken salad sandwiches and Max brought ham and cheese buns. We also had salad and dessert. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family and to have Jake in our home.

Cute friends and family.
Notice the nice tile behind Karlee. It looks so much better than the plain old wall.
Sleeping little angel, but he wasn't sleeping during the blessing.
Cute boy that we were together for...

3 months old

Jacob David Johnson or Jake is 3 months old. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I just realized also that I didn't even post a 2 month post. I have lots of pictures but I don't know what ones are the "official" two months. I am kind of a slacker. I guess I am a frazzled new mom that can't get it all done in a timely manner.
Jake is so cute. He is all kinds of smiley and coos all the time. He loves to kick his feet and eat his hands. He spits his binky out whenever he can and puts the hands in. He wants to be held all the time, and loves to EAT! He is always trying to sit up. He wants to jump out of the car seat or out of your arms. What a strong boy he is.
He has a cast AGAIN. He will have it for 5 weeks this time. He is such a good sport about it. HE doesn't really know how much better it is without because he just gets another one put right back on. I tell you what, it is such a pain when it comes to bathing him. This is the one kid that has not been bathed as often as the others, but he still smells fine. He's a baby and they don't really stink. I can't even describe how much I love this boy. He makes me smile and makes me so happy even when I don't feel like doing anything or getting out of bed. HE has kept me going. What a sweetheart he is. I am so lucky to have him in my home and in my life.

Happy 10th Birthday, Makenna!!

I can't believe how fast time flies. It seems like just a few short years ago we brought our first little sweetheart home from the hospital. Now she is 10! Its just not right. On Saturday we had her cousins and a few friends from school get together at Nickel City. They had a blast. They each got a bunch of nickels to spend and win tickets and get cheesy prizes with them. Its amazing how fast they went through the nickels. You could definitely lose a lot of money in a hurry. After the games we had cupcakes and then went home. They all played at the house for about 1 1/2 hours after and had a great time. Its so much fun to live by most of the cousins and to get to see them all the time. That was the hard thing about living in St. George was that we didn't get to see them very often. Then on Sunday the actual day of her birthday we went to church and then over to see the Johnson's and have dinner. Grandma Helen made Makenna roast and potatoes and gravy. We had a great time with them. I love you, Makenna and I am so glad that you are in our family!!

My brother in law takes pictures and he took some pictures of baby Jake when he was one month old. They are so cute. I really don't have lots and lots of pictures taken of the kids this early, but when you have people doing it for free, what can you do? Thought I would share :)

Our New Addition

I had the baby on Tuesday the 5th at 2:30 in the afternoon. I got to the hospital at 7:00 in the morning and was induced. He was 7lbs and 9oz. A big boy for me. MY others were all under 7 lbs. We decided to name him Jacob David Johnson. Jacob after Joe's brother and David after my brother. He is so sweet. He isn't much of a crier. So, I had a terrible experience with the epidural. The guy gave me what is called a wet tap. Its where it pierces the spinal sac that they aren't suppose to pierce. Then he told me that I would get a spinal headache. It was the worst thing ever. I couldn't even stand up the pressure was so intense. Honestly it was awful. The next day another anesthesiologist came in and gave me what is called a blood patch to patch the hole that they had made. Its where they put the enormous needle back into your back and draw blood from your arm and then put the blood into your back. Then you have to lay flat and hope that it clots and stops the headaches. Well I thought that it had worked and by that night the headaches were back. It was so bad. I was going to just go home and they said it could last for up to 2 weeks. I couldn't even stand up. That wasn't going to work so Joe decided that I should get another patch done. He added even more blood the second time and then made me lay flat longer and the pressure in my back was so bad, but it worked. I have a seriously sore back, but I can walk and no headache. I had no idea it would be so bad. Good thing I am done having kids. The worst of it is that the original epidural wasn't all that great to begin with. I felt all the things at the end that you don't want to feel, hence the reason for the epidural. I guess you live and learn, right? I am so glad to have him here!!
