Baby Max

My sister Jill had her baby early this morning at 3:30 a.m. (October 7, 2007) He was 4 weeks early because she had super high blood pressure and protein in her urine etc... She hasn't been well for a while. Her liver and kidneys have been kind of on the fritz for some time now. Anyway, she named him Max. I love, love, love that name. I wanted a Max, but Joe was never going to have it. I'm so glad that someone got to use it in the family. For those of you that don't know, my mom's name is Maxine and she goes by Max. I just love the name. I just wanted to tell you all how excited I am for another Preston grandbaby that wasn't birthed by me. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have another baby someday, just glad it wasn't today!! Welcome to the family, Max. I will post pictures as soon as I get some.
I am going up to visit her this week since the kids are out of school for UEA. I sent Maddie up already to visit grandma, on Friday, with my cousin Lindsay. Of course I have to go up and retrieve her. I can't wait to see everyone. It seems that I get up there less and less because of school and gas prices. I am so glad that it is within driving range, however. I will post lots of fun pictures soon!

My ABC book pictures

I once was lost...

So I guess I fell off the blog wagon for a little while. I haven't had all that much to write about and have been super busy making scrapbooks for a boutique thing that I am going to be a part of. My friend rented out a room at the Crystal Inn here in St. George on the 20th of October from 10 until 2:00 p.m.. and there will be about 13 different vendors. There was my plug for the event. Mark your calendars... Just teasing. The cost was way cheap to enter so I won't really lose any money. Plus I am only making things with the supplies that I already have. No going in the hole for me. I was in the Dickens Festival a few years ago and lost a bunch of money. I had lots of fun making the stuff and being in it with my friends, but it made me sad that I didn't sell much of the cute stuff that I made. If I have a bunch of cute stuff left over this time, then you will all get some great hand made stampin up thing for Christmas. Hope you don't mind. Currentle I am making ABC books and if they aren't the cutest things then I don't know what is. I think they will sell. Cross your fingers for me. I need to go find out what Maddie is smacking against the window so I will fill you in on my stampin up later.

WCBR Fundraiser for Down South

The Washington County Board of Realtors chose Down South, as well as 3 other charities, to sponsor this year with their fundraising. They do a golf tournament and some other fundraiser during the year. We were chosen to have the proceedes from the golf tournament along with the Doctors Free Clinic. They raised $4,000.00 just for us. They are such wonderful people to do that for our group. We are so grateful to them for their help. Thanks WCBR!!

Rodeo

Saturday was the day for the special needs rodeo put on by the Lions Club. It was fun! Hotter than sin, but fun. I really think that its sick and wrong to be over 100 degrees in the middle of September, but that's just me. They had this darling little donkey with a saddle on it, and some baby goats, cows, chickens, and ducks. Maddie was thrilled with looking at them all and even decided to WALK the goat instead of grabbing the orange tape off of its tail. She said come on goat and pulled it around. It was so cute. Seth got in the area with the ducks and tried to catch one, but didn't succeed. They really had a blast. By the time we left, they were both bright red and happy. I had to keep telling them to have a drink, but for the most part they could care less about that. Makenna was at a birthday party so she missed the touching of the animals, but she went to the "real" rodeo later that night with the DeHaan's. She had a blast telling me all about the bucking bulls. She sure does like her horses and the outdoors. We all had fun while Joe was busy working. Maybe he will get to come and play next time. Joe and I got a babysitter later that night and went to see the Bourne Ultimatum. I thought it was great. You always wonder about a 3rd movie in a series being any good, but it was really good. We liked it and had a lot of fun. Seems like it has been many moons since we went to a movie and I am glad we did.

Peachy Pie

Its official! I have finally tasted the most talked about pie of the season. The fresh peach pie from Crowshaw Pies. I have heard all kinds of great things about this pie, and how hard it is to get, so I called and low and behold I got my hands on one. I had to call right at 9 in the morning and see if they had any left for the day. They said they had one available and that I could pick it up after 11:00. My darling friend Carolyn had said that she would love to taste these yummy pies too, so after we went and picked it up, we went to her house to have a pie picnic. It was great. Not as good as I was thinking it was going to be, or for the price it was, but it was good. I think that the company was even better. I hadn't seen Carolyn forever and it was so much fun to see her and visit with her. It you haven't had a chance to have a fresh peach pie this summer, make your own!

I love to see the Temple...

My sister in law Cyndi was here the past few days, and she just got a call from her Stake President saying that she can go back out on her mission. She has finally been released to go since she had knee surgery. She flies out on Wednesday morning and I am so excited for her. She has never been to the temple here, so she and I went this morning. It was so great to go with her. I love to go and feel the spirit there. It is so beautiful and I'm glad that we got to go and do that together.
